The Cemu Wii U Emulator version 1.5.2 now runs most popular Wii U games, from Super Smash Brothers all the way to The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD.

Now a YouTuber called John GodGames has uploaded a lot of new videos showcasing a lot of popular Wii U games running on the Cemu emulator. His channel has used the Cemu emulator since it's first release and now shows a lot of the Wii U's most popular games running at playable framerate, albeit with audio issues.

In the recent 1.4.0c version of the emulator, Cemu gained it's new PowerPC JIT recompiler that provided 5-6 times faster CPU emulation. This allowed the Emulator tp be able to play a large number of popular Wii U games on fairly old PC hardware including The legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker and Xenoblade Chronicles.

Right now version 1.5.2 is only available to those who back the development of this piece of software on Patreon, with the new version releasing to the public in less than a week. Right now the Team Cemu Patreon has 432 backers and raises over $2,000 a month.

The footage shown in this article was played on a high-end gaming PC, which uses an Intel i7 6700K CPU and a GTX 970 GPU. It is clear that with this performance on these specs that the emulator will need a lot of improvement in order to become usable for the masses.

PC specs:

CPU - Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.60 Ghz
RAM - 16 GB DDR4
GPU - GTX 970 GAMING 100ME 4GB
OS - Windows 10 64bit

Right now version 1.5.1 is available to the public, allowing PC gamers to easily play Wii U games on PC hardware, though please bear in mind that emulation is a legal grey area.
