The Dolphin Wii Emulator for PC has been updated to Support a DirectX 12 back end, offering up to a 50% increase in performance compared to the emulator's DX11 back end.

While the DirectX 12 version of the emulator is still a development version of the emulator, rather than a full "stable" release, it gives Windows 10 gamers a great deal of extra performance, which is likely due to the API's better utilization of CPU and GPU resources.

Below are some graphs detailing the performance improvement seen in a few emulated games while using the DirectX 12 API.

Right now the DirectX 12 version of the Emulator is not without issues, but it has now been added directly to the development version of the emulator, so improvements to the DirectX 12 backend for the emulator will be coming in the future, but for now the performance of the emulator had been improved significantly in certain scenarios, which is a great thing to see.
