The Nvidia Countdown Begins - Will Pascal be revealed on Friday?

The Nvidia "order of ten" Countdown has begun, stating that "Humanity will be Enlightened" on Friday the 6th of May, the same day that the next Battlefield game will be announced by DICE.

Right now it is rumored that this Friday will be an "Editors Day", where Nvidia would supposedly be giving early Pascal details to members of the press under an NDA. Now it seems that Nvidia might actually be revealing Pascal on this date, or at least have some kind of announcement at the end of the week.

At this time, it is unknown what Nvidia will be announcing, whether it will be a new Pascal gaming GPU, or perhaps a new Nvidia-based tablet or mobile SoC, as Nvidia have recently settled their patent dispute with Samsung.

The massive hype pretty much ensures this will be a major disappointment.

I, for one, expect progress a la Intel. 15-25% performance increase for the same cost. Less TPD. Possibly a new all-time-high record cost for top cards.

But i hope i will be pleasantly surprised! I got a GTX780 that now needs either replacing or a 'brother'.Quote

I'm not that hyped for the Pascal release because it won't really mean anything until Polaris gets onto the field. Once we have both, then it gets exciting.Quote

I am expecting around a 5% to 10% increase in performance over the 980Ti, with lower power usage and lower temps but a increase in price over the 980Ti.Quote

I think the countdown hype will also be lacklustre.Quote
