The Oculus Rift is now available to purchase within the UK for the price of £549.99, which is £50 higher than the Oculus Store's previous UK price of £499.99. It is expected that this price rise in the UK is to compensate for recent currency fluctuations.

The Oculus Rift will be coming to John Lewis, Currys/PC World, GAME and Harrods, with Demo Units being available to use in select retail stores. The VR headset will come free with an Xbox One controller and a copy of Lucky's Tale.

While the Oculus Rift does seem like a bargain when compared to HTC's Vive Headset it is worth noting that the Oculus Rift does not offer a "full room VR experience", lacks the HTC Vive's chaperone system and lacks motion controllers. At this time it is unknown when the Oculus Touch controllers will release and what price they will release at.
