The Oculus Rift will hit UK retail shelves on September 20th

The Oculus Rift has a 10% price increase in the UK

The Oculus Rift will reach UK Retailers on September 20th, with pre-orders already being available at some stores.  The VR Headset will cost   total of £549.99, which is £50 higher than the Oculus Store's previous price of £499.99 price tag.

This means that when the Oculus Rift hits UK has effectively gotten a 10% price increase in the UK, mirroring the actions of HTC's Vive VR headset and PC makers like ASUS, Lenovo, HP and Dell in order to account recent currency fluctuations.

At this time we know that the HTC Vive will be coming to John Lewis, Currys/PC World, GAME and Harrods, with Demo Units being available to use in select retail stores. The VR headset will come free with an Xbox One controller and a copy of Lucky's Tale.

While the Oculus Rift does seem like a bargain when compared to HTC's Vive Headset it is worth noting that the Oculus Rift does not offer a "full room VR experience", lacks the HTC Vive's chaperone system and lacks motion controllers. At this time it is unknown when the Oculus Touch controllers will release and what price they will release at.
