The Technomancer will be locked to 30FPS on PC

Update -

Focus Home interactive has now confirmed that the PC version of the game will not be locked to 30FPS on the PC, stating that while their developer did mention a 30FPS lock on PC, the game has no such lock or limitation.

Original Article -

The Technomancer will be locked to 30FPS on PC in order to have the same "rhythm" and "pace of combat" as the console versions. This hints that the game has had certain aspects of the combat linked to the framerate, preventing the game from running at a higher framerate without issues.

It will be locked; for the rhythm of the game and the difficulty setting, it was better to lock it, so that we ensure that the pace of the combat stays the same for everyone.

The Technomancer is a story driven Sci-fi RPG based on Mars, where players can choose between diplomacy and combat as you travel through this new world. You play as a Technomancer, a formidable warrior who can make use of destructive electrical powers, who can have a number of combat styles using the wide upgrade tree.

Below is the recently released E3 trailer for the title, which will be released later this month on June 28th.

Below are the PC system requirements for the title, which state that the game will require a minimum of a quad-core CPU, 4GB or system memory, and a GTX 560 or HD6950 GPU.

    Minimum PC requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 / 8 / 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • Processor: AMD FX-4100 X4 (3,6 GHz)/Intel Core i5-2500 (3,3 GHz)
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 1 GB, DirectX 11, AMD Radeon HD 6950/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 11 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

In other words "We don't know how to untie the physics/gameplay/mechanics from the framerate, because we're , so we left it at 30"

There is literally no excuse for this. Ever.Quote

Classic case of "s**t I'm pretty sure the game is locked to 30 so let's make up a quick reason why"

PC Gamers/Gamers in general are not all complete idiots.Quote
