Ubisoft has now spent €122.5 million, around $137.5 or £106 million to help prevent a potential buyout by Vivendi, purchasing 3.2% of their own shares from Bpifrance.

Right now Vivendi currently owns  22.8% of Ubisoft's shares and has made it known that they wish to buy a majority stake in the company. Vivendi has already completed their takeover of Gameloft, now owning 56% of the company in a move which Yves Guillemot has described as "hostile" and "against the best interest" of the company. At this time the Guillemot family is attempting to prevent the same thing happening to Ubisoft.

This comes not long after Ubisoft's Founder, Yves Guillemot has purchased 3.5% of the company with his own money to prevent a potential buyout, increasing the Guillemont families ownership of the company to 12.5%.

Ubisoft's founder buys another 3.5% of the company for around £120 million

Right now the Guillemot family and the current set of Ubisoft Executives are reported to have been lobbying shareholders to prevent them from selling their shares to Vivendi in a move which they believe will be in the best interest of Ubisoft.

Without sounding too bitter, from a pc gamers perspective Im not sure ubisoft could get much worse.
I'm sure they actually could but the amount of bs ubisoft give out to hype games and then they are nothing like what they said.... The division or watchdogs being a couple of examples.Quote
