Unity 5.4 offers greater VR Performance and improved low-level access

Unity 5.4 has finally been released and it offers greater VR Performance and improved low-level access for developers, as well as improved multi-platform support.

This new version of Unity now includes optimised rendering for OpenVR/SteamVR, the Oculus Rift, Gear VR and PlayStation VR, with a single API that allows developers to build a game for multiple headsets without the need for excessive amounts of device specific tweaking. This should not only allow developers to develop games for VR faster but also allow them to access greater VR performance with ease.
