Valve has sold over 500,000 Steam Controllers

In Valve's recent Steam Controller update the company announced that they have now sold over 500,000 Steam Controllers and that the controller has been updated to support some new features.

One update is what Valve call rumble pass through to give the controller a rumble feature and that now users can use the controllers motion sensors to allow the controller to act as a steering wheel in certain games.

Since launch the Steam controller has had support for a lot of the largest PC games at launch, with the most recent examples being DOOM, XCOM 2 and Dark Souls 3, with each game utilising some of the controllers unique features and capabilities.

We’re excited to announce that over half a million Steam Controllers have been sold. With every controller that comes online we get the opportunity to get more feedback on how to make the Steam Controller even better.

While the Steam controller is not as popular on PC as the traditional Xbox Style control pad it is undeniable that this new controller does have a fanbase and that Valve is committed to improving this controller with more features as they gain more fan feedback.

Indeed, I ended up selling mine.

Loved the controller, but I don't game enough with it. I use KB/M whenever possible.Quote
