Valve issues VR warning on the steam store for non-VR users

Most PC gamers are not as well informed as you would think, whether they are just novices when it comes to PC hardware or forget to do things like installing new GPU drivers when a new game launches. Now VR presents a whole new issue for gamers, as not only will players be required to have a powerful enough hardware, but they will also need to have a compatible HMD (Head Mounted Display).

Valve has now issued a VR warning on their Steam storefront for non-VR users, as a lot of PC gamers have been buying VR only games without the required HMD, like shown in the image below.

Before yesterday no such warning existed for VR only games, meaning that there were well over 150 projects on Steam that users could download or buy to find out afterwards that they do not have the required hardware in order to play it.

Thankfully with this new warning in place, there will be less confused gamers on the Steam Storefront but it is pretty damning that the largest gaming storefront and one of the heaviest backers of VR gaming have made such a huge oversight when it comes to non-VR gamers on Steam.
