Virtual Desktop in VR - Compatible with Everything

Virtual Desktop for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive that let's you use your PC in VR, allowing you to browse the web, watch movies, view photos or even play games on a giant virtual screen.

What Virtual Desktop offers is an all-in-one solution for VR that allows users to do anything from using your desktop, gaming to even full viewing full 360 degree movies with their VR headset, giving VR users the freedom to do pretty much anything PC related inside the virtual world.

This program will allow users to use a VR virtual desktop that has a screen size and a distance of their choosing, allowing them to play games or watch movies in a 100" virtual screen, with minimal performance degradation when compared to using the same programs outside of VR.

The wide compatibility of this program allows pretty much anything to be played using this program without a dedicated app, making this program a must have for future VR users. Below is a trailer showcasing this programs features and use cases.

Personally when I see this program I can only see one real disadvantage, the fact that I cannot see my mouse and keyboard within VR, though this will likely become much less of a problem as you get used to using the application in time. Perhaps in the future all OC3D articles will be written in a VR multi-screen environment, but at least for now a traditional desktop will have to do.

Virtual Desktop will be releasing later this month for those who Pre-Ordered the first Wave of Oculus Rift Headsets, though right now  the demo version of this program for the Oculus DK1 and DK2 are available to download here.

I know right! It almost made me order a Vive then and there. If only I had the money to put down. Shame I need all these GPUs for work.Quote

That looks stunning.

Cannot wait to see what I get on my tax rebate year, as if that is enough I am getting a Rift or a Vive.Quote

Colour me impressed!

They need to nail input interface to this, it could be quite awkward otherwise.Quote
