Xbox One to get Mouse and Keyboard Support

In a conversion on Twitter the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, has said that Mouse and Keyboard support on the Xbox One is coming. This was in response to a Tweet where many were asking for PC-to-Xbox Streaming alongside the existing support for Xbox-to-PC Streaming.

keyboard and mouse support for Xbox would need to be there for this to work, those aren't far away.

While many sites have been saying that this means that mouse and Keyboard will be added as a control medium alongside the Xbox One's existing controller, you need to take this in the context of the conversation, as it has nothing to do mouse and keyboard support in-game, but rather to control a streamed PC through the Xbox One.

Streaming from a Windows 10 PC to an Xbox One is what seems to be coming, being an obvious way to combat Valve's upcoming Steam Machines and their "Steam In-Home Streaming" devices.

Microsoft has already been taking a few shots at Valve recently, with it's announced support for the Xbox One controller on PC, their partnership with Oculus and now seemingly with upcoming Windows 10-to Xbox One Streaming, all of which has a direct Valve pushed counterpart.

No, but as a PC gamer, it opens new doors for me on XB1 games that I would not play before because of no KB and Mouse.Quote

IMO i could care less about console games, for me the big no no is locked FPS to 30FPS or what ever that is.

IMO this will be a huge flop cause most console gamers don't care about Keyboard & mouse.Quote

Most FPS console players play COD. Which runs at 60fps.

I think it's a great idea tbh. Sure it's not for everyone but If you already own a pretty decent PC, streaming COD and using KB&M is a much better experience because hardly anyone plays COD on PCs.Quote
