ASUS Reveal Three STRIX Soundcards- Computex 2015

ASUS has just reveal Three STRIX series 7.1 channel Soundcards at Computex 2015, the STRIX RAID DLX, the STRIX RAID Pro and the STRIX Soar.

All three models are pictured below, but right now the RAID name for some of these Soundcards is rather confusing, given that the term RAID usually refers to storage. ASUS may rename these STRIX Soundcards in the future for this reason, as some will think that these are PCIe SSDs.

All three models look like they share the same base card design, with each card having different features and DSPs. The main compenent of each card is a naitive PCIe multi-codec HD audio controller, wired to a ESS SABRE 9006a DAC. The RAID DLX  will have a higher quality SABRE 9016a DAC.

The main amp is said to handle 600Ω impedance headphones and on the software side the these cards will use a new Sonic Audio Studio control panel.

Both the RAID DLX and the RAID Pro wil come with an external module which will have audio jacks and physical switches to control the soundcards features, there will also be a dial for volume control.

Seriously, its rare if not impossible to even see that fan when its actually installed and operational. I suppose the one of the right has a light up ring?

Well if these perform well and are good value, I guess I couldnt argue with that.Quote
