Have you ever worn out a set of keycaps? Used a keyboard until the keys are shiny and the keycaps are faded? Can you even see where WASD is on your keyboard anymore?

Heavy keyboard users will know what it is like to see worn keycaps, whether you are an enthusiastic typist or a hardcore gamer. This is especially the case for users of RGB keyboards, where keys are made from clear ABS plastic and painted black with laser etched keys. Eventually, these keycaps are worn and become oily through use, resulting in keycaps that look shiny, or in extreme cases have the key markings worn off entirely.

Corsair has decided to address this problem with the release of new aftermarket keycap designs. These keycaps move from painted ABS to a Double-Shot design, using PBT plastic to ensure these keys are hard wearing and shine resistant. These keycaps will come in black and white versions, with Corsair using a clear material to make an internal insert to maintain RGB functionality.

These new PBT Double-Shot Keycaps will not be painted, ensuring a hard wearing, fade resistant design, ensuring that these keys will withstand the test of time. These keys will also come with increased wall thicknesses, which will help prevent damage when your keycaps are removed for cleaning.

Corsair's new keycaps are designed to be compatible with US-layout 104 key configurations and EU/UK 105 key configurations, with the sets being compatible with K95, K70, K65, K63 and STRAFE series keyboards.

Corsair's new PBT Double-Shot keycaps are now available with both black and white variants, with each set costing £39.99 in the UK.
