Whatsapp now works on Chrome
Last night the popular cross-platform messenger service Whatsapp has made it's way onto the PC, but sadly it is only available to users of Google's Chrome Browser right now.
WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and now Google's Chrome Browser and all those platforms can now message each other for no per message fee! WhatsApp Messenger uses the same internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing, there is no cost to message and stay in touch.
The Web client for Whatsapp acts as an extension of the version on your mobile phone, so your mobile phone will remain the centre of your Whatsapp experience, but now you can access all of the messengers functionality on your PC.
"Our web client is simply an extension of your phone: the web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device -- this means all of your messages still live on your phone."
You can now use Whatsapp on your PC by simply scanning a QR code on Whatsapp's website, which can be found here. Once you scan the code using the most recent version of Whatsapp you are ready to go.
You can join the discussion on Watsapp making it's way to the Google Chrome Browser on the OC3D Forums.
