Corsair launches white Dominator Platinum RGB series DDR4 memory kits
Corsair’s premium Dominator Platinum RGB memory kits have been refreshed with an all-new white variant, which will offer users kit sizes which range from 16GB (2x8GB) to 128GB (8x16GB) and speeds which range from 3,200MHz to 4,000MHz at the time of writing.Â
Corsair’s Dominator Platinum RGB range of memory modules are the first to utilise CAPELLIX RGB LEDs, which allow Corsair to pack more RED diodes onto their memory modules than most competing brands. This higher LED count gives users more fine-grained control of their RGB lighting, and the efficiency of these high-end LEDs also allows Corsair to deliver higher brightness levels without an increase in power consumption. Corsair’s CAPELLIX LEDs are also said to offer more longevity than competing LEDs.Â
Each module of Corsair’s Dominator Platinum RGB memory features 12 addressable LEDs, two forged aluminium side plates, and precision-engineered top plates and LED assemblies. Â
Like all Dominator Platinum series RGB memory kits, these new white variants feature the same hand-sorted memory modules, the same 10-layer PCB and the same Dual-Channel DHX Cooling system as Corsair’s other Dominator RGB memory designs. This cooler design is patented by Corsair, and is designed to keep their memory cool while overclocking.
Aesthetically, every visible part of the kit is white, aside from a few golden highlights. Like existing Dominator Platinum series memory DIMMs, these new kits feature a black PCB, a PCB which will be covered by your motherboard and be practically invisible during use.Â
The RGB lighting of these DRAM modules are controllable using Corsair’s iCUE software, which will allow users to customise their lighting however they wish. Users can select static colours, one of Corsair’s 10 pre-defined lighting options or create an entirely custom lighting setup.Â
