G.Skill launch low-latency DDR5-6000 CL26/CL28 memory kits for AMD Ryzen systems

Ryzen users rejoice! G.Skill has a new range of low latency DDR5 memory kits for AMD/AM5 users

G.Skill has just announced a new range of low-latency DDR5 memory kits for users of AMD Ryzen processors. These new kits feature AMD EXPO overclocking profiles for Ryzen 9000 CPUs and X870-series AM5 motherboards. These memory modules boast DDR5-6000 speeds and CL timings as low as CL26.

These new memory modules from G.Skill will be available in Trident Z5 Royal Neo, Trident Z5 Neo RGB, and Ripjaws M5 RGB Neo series forms. Furthermore, they will be available with kit capacities of 32GB (2x16GB), 48GB (2x24GB), 64GB (2x32GB), and 96GB (2x48GB).

With G.Skill’s new 2x16GB and 2x32GB memory kits, speeds of DDR5-6000 with CL26-36-36-96 timings will be available. For higher-capacity 2x24GB and 2x48GB kits, speeds of DDR5-6000 with CL28-36-36-96 will be available. This gives low-latency memory options to users with high and low-capacity demands. That’s great news for gamers, creators, and workstation users alike.

G.Skill has validated these new memory modules with an AMD Ryzen 9900X CPU on an ASUS Crosshair X870E motherboard. Below, you can see the results of some of their testing.

Why Low Latency DDR5 matters

To answer this question, we must first ask what latency is. In simple terms, latency is a delay. For memory, it is the time it takes for data to be received by a processor after that date has been requested. The lower this latency is, the better, as it means that your processor can spend less time waiting and more time working.

Low-latency DDR5 memory responds faster than standard DDR5 memory modules. This allows connected CPUs to react faster, as they will spend less time waiting for data. This is why memory modules with tight CL timings are preferable to slacker ones. Latency-sensitive workloads can be highly impacted by these changes, especially reactive workloads like gaming.
