G.Skill unveils DDR5-9200 1.1V CU-DIMM memory modules
G.Skill showcases ultra-high-speed DDR5-9200 CU-DIMM modules ahead of Computex 2026
G.Skill has unveiled new DDR5 CU-DIMM modules that deliver ultra-fast speeds at relatively low voltages. DDR5-9200 speeds are uber-fast, and achieving this at JEDEC standard 1.1V is commendable. Clearly, memory manufacturers are now tapping the full potential of DDR5 memory.
G.Skill’s new DDR5-9200 CU-DIMM modules come in 32GB kits with two 16GB modules. These modules operate at 9200 MT/s and with CL74-74-74-148 timings at 1.1V. High speeds and high bandwidth levels at low voltages, which means lower power draw and lower thermals.
These new DDR5 CU-DIMM modules were tested using MSI’s MEG Z890 GODLIKE motherboard and an Intel Ultra 7 270K PLUS CPU.
A bright future for DDR5?
DDR5-9200 speeds at 1.1V are a major achievement. These modules highlight the potential of modern DDR5 memory and point towards a future where overclocked modules can achieve these speeds with much tighter timings at higher voltages.
Next-generation CPU platforms will enable broader CU-DIMM memory support across the industry. They should also support higher-speed DDR5 modules more readily. Right now, AMD’s Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series CPUs are typically paired with DDR5-6000 memory modules. With Zen 6 CPUs and new motherboards, it’s likely that AMD will support CU-DIMM memory modules and faster memory speeds. If that is the case, there will be a clear market for overclocked CU-DIMM modules with high speeds and tighter timings.
While these modules do look great, they are undermined by today’s memory shortage and high DRAM prices. With DRAM prices so high, it’s hard to generate interest in premium modules. Regardless, it is clear that DDR5 tech is progressing, and new CPU platforms could greatly benefit from this.
