G.Skill releases new DDR4 memory products for AMD's new Ryzen Threadripper series CPUs

G.Skill has released several new Threadripper optimised memory kits, which offer speeds of up to 3600MHz and all use Samsung B-die memory.

These new memory kits will be part of G.Skill's Flare X series, which are designed for AMD processors. At this time we do not know well AMD's new Threadripper CPUs will run with memory kits faster than 3200MHz, as at this time we have only tested a single CPU.

Like Ryzen, Threadripper scales well with faster memory, with increased DDR4 memory speeds speeding up thread-to-thread communication in Ryzen by speeding up the CPU's Infinity Fabric. Infinity Fabric speed is tied to memory speeds, so the faster your memory the faster your thread-to-thread communication, even across multiple dies.

Ultra-High Frequency Flare X Series Memory Kits at DDR4-3600MHz 32GB (8GBx4)

With improved overclocking performance on the latest AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors on the X399 chipset, G.SKILL is announcing the DDR4-3600MHz CL16-18-18-38 with 32GB (8GBx4) total capacity running in quad-channel mode, under the Flare X series. Tested for maximum stability, this kit’s frequency speed marks the fastest memory kit ever released thus far for an AMD platform.

Massive Kit Capacity, No Compromises: DDR4-2933MHz 128GB (16GBx8)

One of the advantages introduced by the AMD X399 platform is the increase to 8 memory slots on AMD platforms, allowing the support for massive 128GB capacity kits running in quad-channel mode. Tested using the highest standards for memory stability on AMD Ryzen Threadripper platforms, G.SKILL announces the Flare X series DDR4-2933MHz CL14-14-14-34 128GB (16GBx8) memory kit running at 1.35V, perfect for systems requiring high-capacity, high-bandwidth memory kits.

Looks pretty sharp to me. I've always been a Corsair man myself but I'd have zero problem running G Skill sticks. Always pretty good stuff from what I've seen.Quote

G.Skill have always made really good ram. Corsair have generally made better looking ram, but I guess that part is up to debate

I don't like all of these new fangled RGB things. We are paying £35-£50 for them on RAM for example, what if you just don't want them?Quote
