Overclocker Splave pushes DDR5 to 12666 MT/s with G.Skill memory

Splave achieves world record DDR5 memory overclock with G.Skill and ASRock hardware

G.Skill has confirmed that a new DDR5 memory overclocking record has been achieved. This comes thanks to Splave, a world-class overclocker who used Intel’s latest CPUs alongside G.Skill memory to push his DDR5 all the way to 12666 MT/s.

This new record was achieved on an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU and an ASRock Taichi OCF motherboard. Memory-wise, this overclock was achieved on a G.Skill Trident Z5 memory module. Note that this record was achieved using liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling.

As always, this new world record comes thanks to the skills of overclockers and ongoing improvements to CPU, motherboard, and memory manufacturing. Note that all of the newest DDR5 records use Intel’s new Core Ultra CPUs. Furthermore, we often see the same brands pop up as new records are achieved. In this instance, G.Skill and ASRock built the hardware behind this overclock.

Who is Splave?

Splave is currently the world’s top-ranked overclocker on HWBOT. Over the years, he has been breaking overclocking records after every new hardware launch. Splave’s dedicated to pushing PC hardware to its absolute limits and has recently created SplavePC, aiming to create his own lineup of overclockable components with various partners.

You can learn more about Splave and SplavePC on his website here.

This new record comes thanks to the dedication of overclockers and the march of technological progress. Undoubtedly, memory speeds of 12666 MT/s will become normal at some point. After all, faster memory controllers and modules are always in the works. Furthermore, the bandwidth needs of PC users are only going to grow moving forward.

Even if 12666 MT/s eventually becomes “normal” for new PCs, Splave is the overclocker that got there first. Congratulations to Splave on his new world record.
