SK Hynix has confirmed that it plans to showcase new 24Gb (3GB) GDDR7 memory modules at ISSCC 2026. The event will be held in February 2026, with SK Hynix demonstrating 48 Gbps speeds, targeting mid-range AI inference workloads.

For context, Nvidia’s flagship gaming GPU, the RTX 5090, uses 2GB of GDDR7 memory with 28 Gbps of bandwidth. Not only does SK Hynix’s new memory feature 50% more memory capacity, but it also features over 70% more memory bandwidth. With these specifications, SK Hynix’s new GDDR7 memory modules could transform the next generation of graphics cards. However, it is worth noting that SK Hynix only mentions AI in its notes below.

While most of our readers will be more interested in the GPU potential of these new modules, it’s clear that SK Hynix is marketing towards the AI crowd.
