ASUS and Xbox Tease ROG Ally Update – A Next-Gen Windows Handheld?

ASUS are “cooking up” something new, and it looks like a new ROG Ally

It seems like ASUS may be cooking up a new ROG Ally, and Microsoft’s Xbox division is somehow involved. ASUS has released a new ROG Ally teaser on Twitter/X, and Xbox has reported to the post.

It looks like a new Windows-powered gaming handheld is coming, and ASUS are promising gamers a #NextLevelGaming experience. Perhaps ASUS will start teasing this new product tomorrow. After all, ASUS’ original ROG Ally was revealed through what was first thought to be an April Fool’s joke. It only makes sense for its successor to have a similar reveal.

If ASUS are releasing a new version of their ROG Ally, what kind of hardware will it contain? Furthermore, what does Xbox have to do with it? Is the line between Xbox and PC going to be blurred with this new handheld? Will it be a Windows-based handheld with Xbox add-ons, or will it be something different?

Hardware-wise, will this be another AMD-based handheld? If so, what CPU will ASUS use? Will it use an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU, or something a little more exotic?

You can join the discussion on ASUS’ new ROG Ally Teaser on the OC3D Forums.
