ASUS showcases their WIFI 7 ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Router at Computex
ASUS has confirmed that their ROG Rapture GT-BE98 router has received a “Best Choice” award at Computex 2023, a router that claims to be the “world’s first quad-band WIFI 7 gaming router”. This is ASUS’ new flagship ROG router, and it has beastly specifications.
The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 features four WIFI bands, a 6 GHz band that features up to 11,525 Mbps of bandwidth, two 5,762 Mbps 5GHz bands, and a 1,376 Mbps 2.4 GHz band. In total, the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 can offer users 25,000 Mbps of aggregate bandwidth, and on the wires side, the router is said to feature two 10 Gbps ethernet ports (1 LAN, 1 LAN/WAN), and four 2.5 Gb ethernet ports.
Another Category Award recipient is the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 – the world’s first quad-band WiFi 7 gaming router, with lightning-fast speeds and low latency for seamless online gaming experiences. ROG Rapture GT-BE98 enjoys the benefit of WiFi 7 with the 6 GHz frequency band boasting a new 320 MHz bandwidth, 4096-QAM, and Multi-Link Operation (MLO).
ASUS’ ROG Rapture GT-BE98 router also features a integrated quad-core 2.6 GHz networking processor and features like ASUS’ exclusive RangeBoost technology. Additionally, this router can also be integrated seamlessly into the company’s AiMesh ecosystem, allowing users to extend the range of their wireless network across their home and access a range of useful management features.
Sadly, ASUS has not revealed the pricing or planned availability of their new ROG Rapture GT-BE98 gaming router, though we expect them both to release sometime this year.
With their new WIFI 7 routers, ASUS customers will be able to hit the ground running with ultra-fast WIFI 7 speeds as soon as compatible devices hit store shelves. As 2023 progresses, we expect ASUS to make more WIFI 7 announcements, both across the company’s broader networking portfolio as well as the company’s PC component, systems and laptop products.
