Bambu Lab launches its H2D 3D Printer
Bambu Lab’s H2D is more than just a 3D printer
Bambu Lab has just launched its H2D 3D Printer, and it’s more than just a “bigger X1 Carbon.” Bambu Lab is calling their new 3D printer an “all-in-one” manufacturing hub, as it can be configured to include laser engraving/cutting and digital cutting/plotting features.
With a build area of up to 350 x 320 x 325, the H2D can handle larger prints than any prior Bambu Labs machine. It can handle most full-scale 3D printed helmets without breaking a sweat, which is great news for cosplayers and prop makers. The printer’s dual nozzle design also saves material and time by significantly reducing the number of filament changes needed for multi-material prints.
The AMS 2 Pro has arrived
Alongside the H2D, Bambu Lab has also released its new AMS 2 Pro system. The AMS 2 Pro features built-in air circulation and heating features. This can help user dry their filament before use. There is also a high-temperature version of the AMS2 Pro that can further dry specialised 3D printer filaments.
The Bambu Lab H2D isn’t just a 3D printer
With the H2D, Bambu Lab has moved beyond the world of 3D printing. The printer has two “Laser Edition” versions, and users of the standard H2D can upgrade their printers using laser upgrade kits.
The H2D has 10W and 40W laser options, allowing users to cut, etch, or engrave materials. The higher wattage laser will be able to cut thicker materials. It will also be able to cut many materials faster. The H2D can even be used to cut vinyl and other thin materials.
Bambu Lab has confirmed that it will offer users laserable materials that the H2D can scan to enable optimised laser presets. This will make etching and cutting these materials easy. Bambu Lab also offers an optional air purifier accessory to clean the exhaust air from any laser operations.
