Corsair Racing Division makes its debut at Gamescom 2024
Corsair showcases the fruits of their racing division at Gamescom 2024
At Computex, Corsair revealed their plan to enter the racing sim market, and at Gamescom 2024, we have finally seen the fruits of their engineering efforts. The Corsair Racing Division has revealed themselves, and their early designs look marvellous.
At Gamescom 2024, Corsair has a large number of racing sim setups on display using the company’s new hardware. We have been told that their new racing cockpits can be used with single screens up to 65 inches in size with the right accessories. Furthermore, triple-screen setups can also be supported with individual screen sizes of between 27 and 55 inches. That’s right, you can make a racing sim with Corsair that includes three 55-inch screens!
Pricing for Corsair’s racing sims will vary greatly depending on the hardware you need. Their racing cockpits have been constructed with sturdy 50mm steel tubing and are adjustable for users between 5’0″ (1.55m) to 6’6″ (1.98m) in height. Optional accessories include trays for PCs, consoles, mounts for direct-drive wheels, shifters, inverted pedals, streaming accessories and more.
Expect to see more Corsair racing products in Q4 2024
Corsair has confirmed that they plan to release their first products for sim racers in Q4 2024. Sadly, we do not have UK pricing for any of these product yet. Additionally, Corsair has not revealed the names of their new sim products at this time.
Corsair has created their new sim cockpits with adjustability in mind. Users can opt to purchase a Corsair chair, or opt for their own3rd party sear. Additionally, these racing cockpits are built with tool-free adjustment in mind. Add-on rails also feature T-slots to make accessories mounting a simple process.
What about Fanatec?
In May, Corsair entered exclusive negotiations to acquire Endor AG, the company behind the Fanatec brand. While Corsair appears to be exclusively using Fanatec wheels at Gamescom, the company did not update us on the progress of their negotiations. Will Corsair acquire Fanatec? Who knows…
Fanatec is a much-loved brand within the racing sim community. That fact alone would make it a huge asset for Corsair’s racing division. Even so, there is no guarantee that Corsair will acquire Fanatec/Endor AG.
