Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 wows with its second teaser
Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2’s second teaser has arrived, and it’s stunning
Netflix has officially released its second teaser for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, confirming that the anime will debut on the platform in Fall 2026.
Edgerunners 2 will be a standalone story. The series will not continue the story of Netflix’s original Edgerunners series and will feature a new cast of characters that will be thrown into the darkest corners of Night City. Based on the series’ teaser, we can expect to see a lot of cyberpsychosis, positioning it as a major theme for the show.
The new series has Kai Ikarashi as its director. He was behind episode 6 of the original series. Since that episode is often cited as the best in the series, Kai Ikarashi’s role in the second series has Edgerunners fans hyped.
Look alive, choom — Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is coming your way this Fall!
Gear up for a return to the world of Cyberpunk, where only the ruthless survive and one wrong move can get you flatlined. This standalone story throws a fresh cast of characters into the darkest corners of Night City and brings a raw, gritty take on the world of the future. Lawless and unforgiving, this is Night City at its most brutal.
Brought to you by CD PROJEKT RED and TRIGGER, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is directed by Kai Ikarashi (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, SSSS.Gridman), with Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) as the lead designer and Hugo Award winner Bartosz Sztybor as showrunner, story writer, and producer.

Edgerunners fans can expect to learn more about the series over the coming months. For now, we have the series’ new teaser to enjoy, which is watchable within this article.
It is currently unknown where this series sits within the Cyberpunk timeline. The original series took place before the events of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game. Will this new series do the same? If it takes place after Cyberpunk 2077, could it potentially set up the game’s sequel? Probably not. After all, CD Projekt Red has several new The Witcher games in development. That leaves little room for a new Cyberpunk game, at least for now.
