Intel CEO confirms ongoing product collaboration with Nvidia

Intel CEO confirms planned Intel/Nvidia products after giving Jensen Huang an Honorary Doctorate

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan has confirmed that Intel is continuing to collaborate with Nvidia on “exciting new products”. This was after Lip-Bu Tan placed a Doctoral Hood on Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, who has received a Doctorate in Science and Technology from Carnegie Mellon University in the US.

Last year, Nvidia invested $5 billion in Intel and confirmed that both companies were working on new products with Intel and Nvidia IP. This includes new Intel SoCs with integrated Nvidia RTX graphics, and custom x86 AI processors with Nvidia NVLink.

So far, Intel and Nvidia have not confirmed when these new Intel x Nvidia products will launch. It takes a long time (many years) for new chips to move from conception to production. This means that it will likely be many years before these Intel/Nvidia products are released.

Recent leaks for “Serpent Lake”, which is reportedly the first Intel CPU to feature Nvidia integrated graphics support, will launch in 2028/2029. However, it is worth noting that Serpent Lake has not been officially confirmed by Intel or Nvidia. With this release timeframe, Intel’s Serpent Lake products are likely to launch with Nvidia RTX 60 or RTX 70-series graphics.
