MSI launches their Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ Gaming handhelds

MSI launches two Intel Lunar Lake-powered PC gaming handhelds with Xe2 graphics

MSI has officially launched two new Claw AI series handhelds for PC gamers. These devices are powered by Intel’s new Core Ultra 7 258V Lunar Lake processors and feature 32GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory. Thanks to their new Xe2 graphics chips, these handhelds promise to deliver much more gaming performance than their predecessor.

MSI’s new Lunar Lake handhelds come in Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ flavours. Both feature the same Lunar Lake processors, though the 8 features a larger 8-inch 1920×1200 screen, a larger battery, and redesigned controls. The Claw 7 AI+ is more similar to MSI’s original Claw handheld, with its 7-inch 1080p screen. This model uses the same chassis design as its last-gen counterpart but with some enhancements. Note that both of these handhelds now feature two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. Additionally, both models feature 32GB of system memory, which is more than enough for any gaming workload.

Both models ship with MSI’s Center M software, which makes it easier for users of the handheld to navigate through their games. Furthermore, these new Windows 11 Copilot+ handhelds also support Android apps through MSI’s “App Player.”

Sadly, Pre-orders for these new MSI Claw AI gaming handhelds are not available in the UK at this time. However, MSI fans in the US can pre-order this handheld starting today. With its Xe2 graphics, Intel has promised competitive levels of gaming performance with AMD’s latest Strix Point Ryzen CPUs. However, it should be noted that AMD has not released any handheld gaming PCs that use their RDNA 3.5 graphics.
