Thieves steal 2,810 Switch 2 consoles in $1.4 million semi-truck heist

A $1.4 million cargo of Switch 2 consoles has been stolen in the US

The Sheriff of Arapahoe County, Colorado, has confirmed that over 2800 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles were stolen from a semi-truck as part of a heist. The driver of the truck reported that his trailer had been broken into during a pre-trip inspection. This happened at Lowe’s Truck Stop in Bennett.

Several pallets of Switch 2 consoles were stolen, containing a total of 2,810 units. The driver claims that he did not know what was inside the trailer. The driver only knew that the trailer contained “games or toys.” The goods were reportedly moving from Nintendo of America’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, and were travelling to a GameStop store in Texas. The goods stolen in this heist have an estimated value of over $1.4 million.

Investigators are still looking into this Switch 2 heist, and have asked for anyone with information on the theft to call their investigations tip line.

With Nintendo’s Switch 2 consoles being readily available at retailers, it will be hard for thieves to sell these stolen consoles quickly. Nintendo’s Switch 2 console is not in short supply. Consequently, Nintendo’s Switch 2 thieves will not be able to sell these consoles at their full retail price. Furthermore, they will be more likely to get caught. After all, they will likely need to store these stolen consoles for an extended period of time.
