Valve’s DOTA series is coming to Netflix next month with DOTA: Dragon’s Blood

Netflix has announced that they have been working with Valve to create an animated series based on DOTA 2, titled DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, which will follow the story of Davion, the Dragon knight.

The series will be released next month on March 25th, and a trailer for the series is available below. At the time the number of episodes in this series is unknown, and at this time neither Valve nor Netflix has confirmed that any other DOTA-based animations are in the works.

Below is Netflix’s official blurb for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood;

    The upcoming fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.

Showrunner Ashley Edward Miller has led DOTA: Dragon’s Blood’s development. The series’ animation has been lead by Studio MIR, who were behind Legend of Korra and Netflix’ Voltron: Legendary Defender series. Studio MIR is also working on Netflix’s The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
