Apple Is Making An Electric Car?

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Apple has been working on an Electric vehicle, with hopes of eventually rivalling Tesla in the Electric Vehicle Arena.

According to the Wall Street Journal, this project has been approved for about a year by Apple and is headed by Steve Zadesky, a former Ford Engineer and a long time employee of Apple.

The project is working under the codename "Project Titan" and is just that, a project, and as such may never see the light of day.

Currently the project has around 1000 staff, with a design which is described by many sources as a Minivan. The people behind project "Titan" are not new to the field of electric vehicles either, sporting around 50 employees taken from Elon Musk's Electric Car company Tesla according to Business Insider.

Apple is also working on CarPlay, which allows the iOS interface to extend to a compatible vehicle's dashboard, or other in vehicle units, like a Sat Nav. CarPlay may be the basis of Apple's own In-Vehicle interface/experience. There is also the possibility that Apple could even make your iPhone work as your vehicle's key.

It is unknown if project "Titan" will ever create a marketable product, all we know right now is that it will be many long years before we see anything come out of it.

Well you can expect the apple fangirls to say the usual "It's not about the specs" when paying 50% more than even a cheaper machine that far outperforms it in all areas apart from the hipster status.Quote

I honestly do not see this reaching the light of day, but who knows.

In my honest opinion we need to focus more on cleaner energy than electric cars, remember where all the electricity comes from.Quote

True but you have to remember the fat cats can't get as much profit on clean energy as they have a well established decomposed animal juice fuel industry so clean energy is a long way off unless some people shake up the oil industry.Quote

Only thing that will stop the oil industry is the oil running out. It makes too much money for fat cats to take their blinkers off.

As for apple's car... lol.Quote

No energy source is infinite. Oil will run out and faster than most people think. Most of the world's oil comes from the middle east. Its estimated to last another 20-30 years before it's depleted. Once that happens.. if militaries around the world to move to different fuels... no more wars will be fought Solar power or using the sun is the best energy source we can harness. More people move to it the cheaper and better it will get. As of now it's expensive because all the greedy s just want to use all the oil.Quote
