Expect to see new ROG series laptops on May 17th
ASUS has just confirmed that their next ROG launch event will be hosted on May 17th, where the company plans to reveal "new ROG Laptops" and their "latest technologies".
Last weekend, ASUS teased their first ROG series M.2 SSD, a PCIe 4.0 x4 drive called the ROG Strix SQ7. ASUS is likely to reveal more about this new SSD at next week's Boundless event. Right now, this drive is expected to deliver sequential read speeds of 7,000 MB/s or more, hence the SQ7 name.
On ASUS' ROG Boundless event webpage, ASUS has teased the release of a new ROG SCAR series laptop with upgraded specifications. The tagline for this event is "break boundaries with the most powerful ROG laptops", suggesting that other new high-end laptop models are on the horizon.
ROG's new Boundless event comes one week before Computex 2022, suggesting that ASUS' ROG team plans to pre-empt Computex by pre-launching a number of new products. Whether or not ROG will have more to showcase at Computex remains to be seen.
