ASUS has shown off a load of new RGB themed products to go along with their White Gold Award winning Z170 Maximus VIII Formular motherboard. The first of these products are their new RGB Claymore keyboard, their RGB Spatha mouse and their new RGB Aura AM3+ motherboard.

ROG Claymore

The ASUS Republic of Gamers Claymore is a new Cherry MX RGB keyboard which will be available with Red, Blue, Brown, and Black switch options and a detachable numeric keypad with macro key functionality.

This backlit keyboard features customizable keys with RGB lighting and N-key Rollover technology and synced to ASUS ROG motherboards. Here you can use hotkeys to control fan speed, boot up, CPU and memory overclocking, and BIOS access, making this one very customisable bit of tech when combined with other ASUS parts.

ROG Claymore has been built with a durable aluminum-alloy frame with Mayan-inspired styling. The ROG logo can even glow with it's RGB LEDs, making it look just like ASUS' recent ROG RGB motherboards.

This keyboard will be released in Q1 of this year.

ROG Spatha

The ROG Spatha is a 8200 DPI laser gaming mouse which has been designed with MMOs in mind. It contains a total of 12 programmable buttons, all of which are easily accessed by the user, allowing for easy use and customization.

Users will have the freedom to this mouse in both it's wired and wireless modes, and can be made to easily match your Claymore RGB Keyboard and ASUS RGB motherboard.

ROG Aura AM3+ RGB Motherboard

AMD has had a lack of new motherboard chipsets for a while, making most of AMD's current generation AM3+ motherboards look rather feature bare, lacking support for M.2 based SSDs and even PCI express 3.0.

ASUS has decided to create a new AMD motherboard that had an up-to-date feature set, offering M.2 SSD support, USB 3.1 support and RGB lighting.

It is a real shame that a lot of this motherboard is red, as otherwise the motherboard could really take advantage of it's RGB LEDs, as any colour other than red would make this motherboard really clash.

Personal opinion, I prefer not to have any more physical space used than is required for basic operation. Sticking functions under Fn key combinations is ideal.Quote
