Deliveroo partners with Amazon to add Deliveroo Plus to Amazon Prime

Amazon and Deliveroo have announced that they have reached an agreement to add Deliveroo Plus to Amazon’s Prime subscription service in the UK and Ireland. This will give Amazon Prime subscribers a free year of Deliveroo Plus when they link their accounts, giving them free delivery on all orders over £25 (or less depending on your chosen restaurant). 

Deliveroo Plus is a subscription service that offers Deliveroo’s users unlimited free delivery from all restaurants and grocery partners when orders meeting minimum spending requirements (which are £25 or less). This service is designed to promote brand loyalty and deliver value to repeat customers. 

A year of Deliveroo Plus is worth over £40, making it a valuable add-on for Amazon’s Prime service in the UK and Ireland. Those who cancel their Amazon Prime Subscription after taking advantage of this Deliveroo Plus offer will have their Deliveroo Plus subscription terminated. 

This partnership has come two years after Amazon led a $575 million funding round for Deliveroo. This funding was used to expand the company’s reach and improve the company’s services.  
 
It is easy to see how this deal benefits Amazon and Deliveroo. It gives Amazon customers more reason to invest in Amazon Prime and gives Deliveroo access to Amazon’s Prime subscriber base. This should help Amazon grow its subscriber base further and help Deloveroo establish itself as a leader in the food/groceries delivery business. It’s a win-win situation for both companies.
