Intel Cancels IDF Taiwan

Intel Cancels IDF Taiwan

The weakened global economy continues to affect all players in the tech industry, even the big giants.  Intel recently gave word that they will be cutting down on their Intel Developer Forum (IDF) events in order to save money.  In past years, three IDF’s took place: one in China, one in Taiwan, and one in San Francisco.  This year, Intel has felt the need to cancel the Taiwan event, which normally takes place in October.  In addition to this, the China event, this year being held in Beijing in April, has been cut down from two days to just a single day event.

Intel believes that the Taiwan event cancellation will not affect their presence in the area too badly, mentioning they will still be attending Computex Taipei 2009 and other such events.  The San Francisco IDF in September will remain untouched as Intel’s flagship conference.
