Nokia Phone saves life, Microsoft cheaps out
A Nokia phone has saved a life recently, but it wasn't a Nokia 3310. No, it was a flagship Windows Phone that saved a Chinese man named Geng Ming from having has head crushed by a collapsing wall.
Mister Ming instinctively covered his head with his trusty old Lumia 920, which softened the blow of the debris. This event did not go unnoticed, as Microsoft China heard the story and were kind enough to send Ming a brand-new Windows Phone.
All good and well you may think. Well, maybe not. While Mr. Ming is doing good at the moment, the phone replacement left something to be desired. Instead of sending Ming an actual upgrade, a Lumia 930 for example, MS replaced Ming's flagship smartphone with a brand new Lumia 640 XL, an entry-level mid-range smartphone. Hurray.
Geng is obviously very happy with his new smartphone.
Of course it's well known that Microsoft is currently only focusing on the mid-range segment of the market, but this is a bit silly and MS is just making themselves look cheap by replacing a(n older) flagship with a mid-range phone.

At least Microsoft give the guy an 830...Quote
I would personally be happy with recieving the L640XL as a replacement for my own L920 free of charge. It's just not a big enough improvement for me to justify a purchase, though.Quote
