A later launch, but more episodes on day-1

Obi-Wan Kenobi's now premiering with two episodes on May 27th

Obi-Wan's Disney+ launch has been delayed, and that's a good thing

In a new video, Euan McGregor has announced that the release of Disney's Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been delayed, shifting from May 25th to May 27th. The series will be available to stream exclusively on Disney Plus.

While some fans may be annoyed by this delay, it is worth noting that this delay actually moves forward the majority of the series by five days, as Obi-Wan Kenobi is now launching with two episodes on day-1. Instead of waiting until June 1st for Episode 2, fans will only need to wait until May 27th.

Disney Plus' Obi-Wan Kenobi series is based between Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope, filling in the gaps between Episodes 3 and 4. The series will feature Obi Wan Kenobi as the series' protagonist, with Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Darth Vader.

Below is what Disney had to say about the show in their latest blog post

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat — the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader.

The series also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
