Samsung Shows See-Through Smartphone For Tony Stark
Last summer, the Avengers assembled at Samsung HQ to get to a partnership. The Korean multinational has provided Marvel's superhero's with special devices ever since. With the next movie in the Avengers franchise, Age of Ultron, coming out in just four months, Samsung has shown off a load of tech designed for the movie during CES 2015. The most interesting one being an extremely thin see-through phone, made for Tony Stark. Pretty cool, right? Yeah, we thought so too.
The phone is inspired by Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge, which features a peculiar edged screen. The Smartphone Manufacturer itself has some interesting things to say about the phone.
“What type of phone does a man who has everything need? A sleek and metallic phone that features cutting edge technology designed specifically for Tony Stark. With a striking flexible display, the phone features two different curved panels, taking inspiration from Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge so that important information is displayed separately from the main screen. The device features a hologram glass user interface with fingerprint security so that even if the device gets into the wrong hands, Tony Stark’s personal data stays secure and out of the hands of the enemy.”
Although it's a very neat idea indeed, a Marvel Illustrator was overheard saying: "Imagine if this device was real," so unfortunately it's very unlikely the device will actually work. There was a mock-up for show on the booth, and the panels seemed to be actually legit, which made the design look awesome.
Other tech that was shown during the 'A Night With Marvel' event at CES include special Bluetooth earpieces and custom smartwatches for the Avengers cast. Another device for Stark was also shown: a tablet simply called 'Tony Stark's Device'. Stark's tablet has a lot in common with the smartphone, except for the larger screen of course. Samsung also showcased the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy Note Pro tablet, which will also be used in the movie.
