Valve reveals Steam Link, a $50 Steam Streaming Box

When Valve oroginally announced their Steam Machines at CES last year there was one machine that was curiously missing from the lineup, an affordable low spec machine which was designed to run Steam's In-Home Streaming, rather than the games directly.

It seems that this was by design, as Valve has just announced Steam Link, a new piece of hardware which is dedicated to Streaming your PC games to anywhere in your home. With a release price of $50, this thing will definitely give solutions like the NZXT DOKO a run for it's money.

"Designed to extend your Steam experience to any room in the house, Steam Link allows you to stream all your Steam content from any PC or Steam Machine on the same home network,”

Valve say that Steam Link will will support streams of 1080p at 60FPS with low latency, which makes the DOKO's 30FPS limit seem like a joke by comparison, especially given how the DOKO costs almost 2x more at the price of $99.

For an extra $50 you can also buy a Steam Controller, which should have it's final design revealed over the next few days at GDC.

Currently the $50 price tag only applies to the US, with pricing for other territories coming closer to the devices launch in November 2015.
