ASUS reveals their ROG THOR III 1600W power supply with magnetic OLED screen

ASUS has revealed their next-generation of ROG THOR power supplies

ASUS has officially unveiled their ROG THOR III 1600W power supply, and it boasts some major upgrades over its last-generation counterpart. For starters, ASUS has made their PSU’s OLED screen magnetic. Should users wish, they can remove it from their PSU and attach it elsewhere on their PC for maximum visibility. Great news for users of cases with PSU shrouds or other covers.

Inside the ROG THOR III is GaN (Gallium Nitride) MOSFET technology, which helps ASUS to deliver high levels of power efficiency. Additionally, this technological shift allows ASUS to adopt a better component layout for cooling.

Another neat addition to ASUS’ new ROG THOR power supply is its patented “intelligent voltage stabilizer”. This feature is said to help deliver more stable power delivery to graphics cards to enable “smoother gameplay and unwavering performance”. Currently, we do not know how this feature works, though we think the PSU’s pink/purple connector has something to do with it.

Below, we can see that tis PSU has two 12V-2×6 connectors. ASUS has stated that this PSU is ATX 3.1 compliant, and is 80+ Titanium certified. The PSU is also backed up with a 10-year warranty.

Currently, the pricing and release date of this new ROG THOR 3 power supply is unknown. Hopefully, ASUS will confirm more details about this PSU soon.
