ASUS showcase their ROG THOR III 1600W PSU at CES
ASUS’ latest ROG THOR power supply is filled with interesting tech
At CES 2025, ASUS showcased their new ROG THOR III 1600W power supply, highlighting some major tech upgrades over its predecessor. For starters, this new unit features new “GPU-First” voltage stabilisation technology and a switchable magnetic OLED display.
The OLED display on this new ROG THOR PSU can be displayed on either side of the PSU. This makes this feature usable for “fan-up” and “fan-down” PSU configurations. This feature is new to ROG’s new THOR III power supplies.
Inside the ROG THOR III is GaN (Gallium Nitride) MOSFET technology, which helps ASUS to deliver high levels of power efficiency. Additionally, this technological shift allows ASUS to adopt a better component layout for cooling.
These new GaN MOSFETs help to enable this PSU’s 80+ and Cybenetics Titanium efficiency ratings. This has also helped to give this PSU its Cybenetics Lambda A+ noise rating. To achieve this rating, this PSU needs to emit less than 20 dB of noise under all load conditions.
Another neat addition to ASUS’ new ROG THOR power supply is its patented “intelligent voltage stabilizer”. This feature is said to help deliver more stable power delivery to graphics cards to enable “smoother gameplay and unwavering performance”. Currently, we do not know how this feature works, though we think the PSU’s pink/purple connector has something to do with it.
Below, we can see that this PSU has two 12V-2×6 connectors. ASUS has stated that this PSU is ATX 3.1 compliant, and is 80+ Titanium certified. The PSU is also backed up with a 10-year warranty.
