Corsair teases liquid-cooled power supply design at CES 2025

This custom Corsair PSU features liquid cooling

At CES 2025, TechPowerUp spotted an exciting new power supply prototype from Corsair. This new PC power supply is liquid-cooled, making the PSU fanless.

This new Corsair PSU design is practically silent under load. Its cooling is handled by the PC’s custom liquid cooling setup, which means that this power supply cannot generate noise levels above the noise levels of the user’s liquid cooling setup.

Currently, Corsair is unsure if this design will ever become a retail product. Their prototype is unlabeled, preventing us from knowing this PSU’s maximum wattage output. Note that this PSU also lacks Corsair branding.

Thanks to the Cybenetics Lambda rating system, PSU noise levels have become increasingly important for manufacturers. Having a better noise rating than your competitors can be a critical advantage, as it may attract consumers to certain brands more than others. This liquid-cooled PSU takes noise levels to the extreme by having no moving parts in its cooling system. All users need to do is integrate it into their existing liquid cooling loop.

While adding more liquid cooling support to PCs will be of interest to some enthusiasts, others will see it as an unnecessary extravagance. If fan-cooled power supplies can already deliver ultra-low noise levels, is there really a need for liquid cooling?
