Enermax Latest MAXREVO PSU offers with More Watts than Most Gamers Needs

Every PC builders needs to own a solid power supply, a key component that can often withstand the test of time longer than any CPU or GPU. The PSU is the core of any PC build, acting as the source of power for every component that you use, which means that PC builders should take great care when purchasing this vital component.

Enermax believes that PC builders need PSUs that can fulfil the wide spectrum of wattages and use cases that today’s hardware can offer, with their MAXREVO series offering their users high wattages and high-efficiency levels. With their new MAXREVO 1800W, the EMR1800EXT, the company plans to provide enough power to meet the needs of high-end workstations and servers, offering dual 80+ Gold rated efficiency levels, certifying the PSU for both 115V and 230V voltage regions.

With a length of 180mm, the MAXREVO 1800W is relatively short compared to older 1600W+ power supplies, making the PSU relatively easy to fit into most modern cases. The unit’s patented Turbo Switch fan design also enables heavy workstation users to ramp up the unit’s fans to provide increased cooling potential. This is good for long renders or times when users can afford to leave their PC unattended, especially when the PSU is used as a case exhaust fan. While this feature has limited usability from consumers, Turbo mode is rated to deliver 1800W of power at ambient temperatures of55 degrees Celcius, which is useful for workstation/server users.

Enermax is backing up their MAXREXO with a 10-year warranty, with the unit offering up to 12 PCIe 6+2-pin outputs, support for 2x 8-pin EPS/CPU connections plus an additional 4-pin as well as a variety of other connection types.

One thing to note about this power supply is that Enermax ships it with a warning for 100V power regions, such as Japan, stating that within these regions that the MAXREVO EMR1800EXT can only offer up to 1500W of power.

While 1800W power supplies are new necessary for most PC builders, we can certainly see why they need to exist, especially for users of multi-GPU workstations that utilise power-hungry platforms like Intel’s X299 or AMD’s TR4, especially when used with overclocked processors. At this time Enermax has not revealed a price tag for their 1800W MAXREVO power supplies.
