007 First Light is coming to PC and consoles in 2026
IO Interactive unveils a fresh-faced James Bond in 007: First Light
IO Interactive has unveiled 007: First Light, confirming that the game will be coming to PC and consoles in 2026. On PC, the game is coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store. Console-wise, the game will be available on all current-generation systems, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
007: First Light is a standalone story created by IO Interactive. It has no links to any existing Bond movie or game, and acts as an origin story for MI6’s most famous agent.
Based on the announcement trailer below, First Light is a graphically impressive title. The game is being built using IO Interactive’s Glacier Engine, the same engine used to craft the Hitman: World of Assassination series. Like Hitman, all missions in First Light will be replayable with additional modifiers for “endless espionage fun.” Furthermore, players have the option to “go silent or go loud”, giving players many ways to complete missions.
First Light is a 3rd person action game with stealth and action elements. Players can use Bond’s stealth skills, combat prowess, personal skills, and gadgets to achieve 00 status. Note that this is Bond’s first adventure; players need to “Earn the Number.”
