2K Games moves Borderlands 4’s release date forward
Expect to see Borderlands 4 in action at Sony’s next State of Play event
2K Games has officially moved Borderlands 4’s release date to September 12th, abandoning the game’s prior release date of September 23rd. The publisher has also confirmed that the game will be showcased during PlayStation’s next “State of Play” event on April 30th. This will give gamers a chance to see the new game in action.
Since 2K Games also owns Rockstar Games, it has been suggested that this change of release date was intended to increase the gap between Borderlands 4 and Grand Theft Auto VI. If that is the case, Grand Theft Auto VI may be released in October or November.
Unlike Borderlands 3, Borderlands 4 will be available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Borderlands 3 was a controversial PC release due to its Epic Games Store exclusivity at launch. This forced early players to use Epic Game’s PC launcher, splitting the series between two launchers on PC. Eighteen months after launch, Borderlands 3 was eventually released on Steam.

So far, Borderlands 4 appears to be a graphically impressive game. This makes sense, given the fact that this is the first current-generation entry in the series. As usual, the series will support 4-player co-op. Note that the game will have players become one of four new vault hunters. So don’t expect to play as one of Borderlands’ existing characters.
