3DMARK is now available on macOS

Ready to benchmark? UL Benchmarks has just launched 3DMARK on macOS

Starting today, 3DMARK is now available on macOS, allowing users to complete and submit benchmark runs using the latest Apple Silicon devices. Previously, Mac users had to use the iOS version of 3DMARK to complete benchmarking runs. This resulted in subpar results due to the limitations of iOS applications on macOS devices.

macOS devices accounted for one-sixth of benchmark submissions on 3DMARK’s iOS app. Now, UL Benchmarks has responded to this clear demand with a dedicated macOS version of its benchmarking app. This app has fewer limitations than its iOS counterpart and runs as a native macOS app using Apple’s Metal API.

At launch, the macOS version of 3DMARK features three benchmarks. These are 3DMARK Wild Life Extreme, 3DMARK Solar Bay, and 3DMARK Steel Nomad (Light and Standard). This allows macOS users to compare the performance of their devices with iOS, Android, and Windows devices.

Like the tool’s Windows version, 3DMARK’s macOS release supports extra features, including Explorer Mode in 3DMARK Steel Nomad, custom benchmarking modes, and Steam achievements. Yes, the new/native Apple version of 3DMARK is available through Steam.
