3DMARK Speed Way is coming, giving PC gamers a proper DirectX 12 Ultimate benchmarking tool

On October 12th, UL benchmarks will be releasing 3DMARK Speed Way, a new DirectX 12 Ultimate benchmark for the 3DMARK benchmarking suite. This tool is designed to benchmark the next-generation performance of gaming systems, utilising DirectX 12 Ultimate features like ray tracing, mesh shaders, and variable rate shading to deliver high levels of visual fidelity and maximised system performance.

As a DirectX 12 Ultimate benchmark, 3DMARK Speed Way will only work with DirectX 12 Ultimate compatible graphics cards, including models from AMD's Radeon RX 6000 series, Intel's ARC A-series, and Nvidia's RTX 20, RTX 30, and RTX 40 series'.

For existing 3DMARK Advanced Edition owners, 3DMARK Speed Way will be available for $4.99 through the 3DMARK website or though Steam. For new owners of 3DMARK Advanced Edition, 3DMARK Speed Way will be available for free, though the price of the app is increasing from $29.99 to $34.99 to reflect the added value that 3DMARK Speed Way provides.

UL Benchmarks has designed 3DMARK Speed Way to be a more accurate representation of modern/future game performance than their existing gaming benchmarks. 3DMARK Speed Way is designed to test the new features that are available with modern graphics cards, features that will become increasingly important as game developers move away from last-generation gaming platforms.

Tomorrow, when 3DMARK Speed Way launches, we plan to test the utility using a variety of graphics cards.
