All Ratchet and Clank PS3 games can now be played crash-free on RPCS3

A new RPCS3 fix has made all PS3 Ratchet and Clank games crash-free on PC

The team behind RPCS3, the leading PlayStation 3 (PS3) emulator, has confirmed that all PS3 Ratchet and Clank games can now be played on PC without crashes. This is thanks to a new improvement by elad335, the emulator’s lead developer. Thanks to RPCS3’s improved RSC FIFO GET accuracy, PS3’s Ratchet and Clank games are now crash-free. This includes Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, A Crack in Time, All 4 One, QForce, and Into the Nexus.

This achievement is particularly noteworthy as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, the newest game in the series, is available on PC. Thanks to RPCS3, most of the series can now be played crash-free on PC. That said, the game’s PS3 entries are currently listed as “Ingame” on RPCS3 and not as “Playable” on RPCS3’s compatability list. According to the RPCS3 team, the games need to “match PS3 levels of performance on the RPCS3 recommended specifications” to be classed as playable.

Right now, with a sufficiently powerful PC, RPCS3 users can play PS3’s Ratchet and Clank games with playable performance. Over time, new RPCS3 improvements should make the games playable on PC with RPCS3’s recommended hardware.

RPCS3 has dramatically improved in 2026

Today, the RPCS3 team classifies 79.08% of PlayStation 3 games ar as “Playable” using their emulator. Since January 2026, the number of “Playable” games on RPCS3 has risen from 2558 to 2809. Today, the RPCS3 team rates over 99% of PS3 games as either “Ingame” or “Playable” using their emulator.

The PlayStation 3 is one of the most complex consoles available. The system was notoriously difficult to develop for, and no console since has been as complex. With this in mind, what the RPCS3 team has achieved is remarkable. RPCS3 is nothing short of technological wizardry, and the team behind it deserves praise for what they have achieved.
