AMD claims HUGE frame pacing improvements to FSR Frame Generation

AMD promises huge frame pacing improvements when using FSR Frame Generation on RX 9000 series GPUs

AMD has confirmed that it has started rolling out Frame Pacing Improvements for its FSR Frame Generation technology on Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs. This will give games smoother, more consistent framerates and more stable frametimes. This addresses a longstanding issue with AMD’s FSR Frame Generation technology.

With improved frame pacing, games will look and feel smoother on Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs when using FSR Frame Generation. This improvement is likely available only with AMD’s ML-powered Frame Generation technology, which is exclusive to AMD Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs. AMD has not commented on FSR Frame Generation improvements for other Radeon graphics cards. The company has not committed to delivering similar improvements to older Radeon GPUs.

Smoother Gameplay with New Frame Pacing Improvements

We’re not just making FSR smarter, we’re making it smoother. We’re rolling out new frame pacing improvements for FSR Frame Generation on AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics cards, delivering more consistent frame pacing for a smoother, more responsive gaming experience in supported titles.

Today’s update significantly improves AMD’s FSR Frame Generation technology. Without good frame pacing, AMD’s Frame Generation did not deliver the smoother gaming experience it should have. With this update, games should feel much smoother with frame generation enabled. Hopefully, these improvements can become available on a wider range of products in the near future. Adding these frame-pacing improvements to AMD’s non-ML versions of FSR Frame Generation would let these changes benefit users of all modern GPUs.
