AMD reveals five new FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 games - Including The Callisto Protocol

AMD's FSR 2.0 technology has been confirmed for five new games

AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution technology is a game-changer, offering developers and gamers an opportunity to increase the performance of their games by using a high-quality hardware-agnostic temporal upscaler. While Nvidia's DLSS technology remains an excellent technology, its RTX exclusivity limits its usefulness, whereas FidelityFX has the potential to impact PC gamers and console gamers alike, regardless of the GPU hardware they use.

As part of a new blog post, AMD has confirmed that FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 is coming to five new game, in addition to the 16 games with existing or planned support for the feature. These games are  Abyss World, Hitman 3, Rescue party: Live!, Super People, and The Callisto Protocol.

Currently, 19 games have, or will have, FSR 2.0 support. That said, FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0's game support is currently limited by the fact that AMD has not released their FSR 2.0 source code online via GPU Open. Only partnered developers can add AMD's FSR 2.0 technology to their games.

In time, FSR 2.0 will likely become as widely adopted as FSR 1.0, if not more so. Given FSR 2.0's higher quality image outputs, FSR 2.0 is likely to be used by PC developers and console developers alike, especially as more complex games start to target 4K 60 FPS on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Technologies like FSR 2.0 could be critical for many future console game releases, enabling both high fidelity gameplay and high framerates in future games.
